Noticing a trend and that isn't good. A few weeks ago boards went up on the windows and main door of these two recently occupied buildings on 2nd Street SE. Then yesterday around the corner on the 200 b/o of Oakwood Street SE boards went up on a building that was occupied as early as the night before. Very odd. If anyone has any information (or has seen this in their neighborhood) please send it over. According to DCRA, boarded up windows is one of the criteria for being taxed at the $10 Blighted Vacant Property Tax Rate.
Last month at the Ward 8 Community Summit, residents overwhelmingly agreed that vacant blighted property is of their utmost concern.
Update: Including pictures of the Oakwood Street property.
