White Flight: The 2013 Edition
This is not the first time
I have posted tweets along this line but I am still no closer to finding the answer of where this
concern
fear lies. I never see tweets from Blacks mentioning they were fearful about being the only people of color in a place (although we are more likely to be the minority in situations). As a city, are we really as accepting and tolerant as we think? Has progress really been made from the "white flight" of the past to the avoidance of today?
I can't say this enough. We really do have to be looking at the source of those who spread the "Southeast is scary" tales. I don't know how much you can really know about a community when the most experience you have is driving through it.
