July 18 | Community Mtng for Arts + Humanities Festival at Saint Elizabeths East
Okay guys -- you can NOT say there is not a lot of stuff going on in Ward 8. We have the festivals and markets on lockdown over here! THEARC has just joined forces with the DC Commission on Arts & Humanities to bring some artistic goodness to the Congress Heights neighborhood of Ward 8.
This means there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and one of those is showing up tomorrow night for a community meeting to discuss plans for the Arts & Humanities Festival on the Saint Elizabeths' East Campus.
In case you haven't heard the festival kick-off is on Saturday, July 27th, 11am - 4pm.
There will be other events scheduled on the following dates:
August 17, 2013
August 18, 2013
August 24, 2013
You should be at this community meeting if you want to be the first to hear about the events that will be taking place during the festival and how you can get involved. This is a perfect opportunity to do some volunteer work or just spread the word to your neighbors about what is going on on the campus!
Perhaps this festival can do for Congress Heights what LUMEN8ANACOSTIA did for Anacostia. Just a thought. :)
P.S. You can stay up to date on what is going on with the festival on Twitter. Follow @AHFest_DC
