As a consultant, I’ve always appreciated the freedom that comes with working from home and during a public health crisis that’s only been amplified. 

So while most of you who can telework are probably doing so over the next few weeks you may be thinking of the benefits of a full-time telework lifestyle. So on Sunday, March 15th Congress Heights on the Rise will feature jobs that allow you to work 100% from home. Even if you aren’t ready to leap right now, it probably won’t hurt to look.

In terms of job training programs, I’ve mentioned this before but I think it stands repeating. Last fall, I enrolled in FREE classes at the Community College Preparatory Academy (CC Prep) in Congress Heights. I secured my CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ Certification (8 weeks) during a daytime class and took a night-time CompTIA A+ course, taking and passing my certification exams in 8 weeks out of a 16-week class. Between blogging and consulting I’m self-studying for my Network+ exam now which I hope to take this month. After that, I begin self-studying for my Security+ exam. If you don’t know, the future (and six-figure paychecks) is in Cybersecurity. 

If this COVID-19 crisis has taught us anything it’s that life as we know it has changed. How ready are you for this change?
