Traffic Advisory | First Amendment Activity on Nov 5

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, there are multiple First Amendment activities occurring within the District of Columbia. In conjunction with these events, there will be parking restrictions and street closures that motorists should take into consideration. Further the Metropolitan Police Department would like to remind motorists and pedestrians of increased activity in the downtown area.
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the following street will be posted asEmergency No Parking:
• Maryland Avenue from Independence Avenue to 3rd Street, SW
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the following street will be posted as Emergency No Parking:
• Constitution Avenue from 15th Street to 6th Street, NW
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the following street may experience temporary street closures:
• Constitution Avenue from 15th Street, NW to First Street, NE
• East Capitol Street from First Street to 5th Street, NE
• 5th Street from East Capitol Street to C Street, NE
While the Metropolitan Police Department does not anticipate additional street closures, there is the potential for intermittent closures in the downtown area of the District of Columbia. Any decision to close a street will be based upon public safety.
