WASHPO EXPRESS: Taxis and Ward 8 Don't Mix
The Advoc8te awoke this morning to calls/texts that CHOTR was quoted in today's Washington Post Express about yesterday's CHOTR post about the dc taxicab cap being lifted and how hard it is to get a cab into and out of River East Several CHOTR readers commented on experiencing the same type of bias with cab drivers.
If you want to check out Congress Heights on the Rise's brief mention in today's Washington Post Express it can be found on the back page (so I'm told, I need to get a copy).
You can also check it out online at the Washington Post Express, Taxis and Ward 8 Don't Mix.
It would be great if someone in the DC goverment or on the Taxicab Commission could address this issue so that it's not such a herculean feat to get a cab to come over the bridge. As one of yesterday's commentors pointed out it's illegal for a cab driver to refuse a fare based on destination.
Thanks to the WashPo for including CHOTR in the edition and online.
