I've made no secret I fully supported the 'bag bill' and was happy when it passed. I went to the Giant in Congress Heights yesterday and was happy to see everyone with their FREE Giant reusable bags. Giant employees packed everyone's groceries in the festive lime green and purple bags and everyone seemed excited with their new reusable bags (I got four) - it was almost like getting your groceries gift wrapped! I think everyone felt that they were in their own small way doing their part to clean up the Anacostia and reduce litter in our community. All in all I rate the bag bill a huge success...even if in the future I am caught without any of my 25 reusable bags and have to pay 5 cents for a plastic one. :)
