Feb 16 | Deadline EXTENDED for Girls International Travel Program
iFLY Youth is committed to shaping the next generation of global leaders by exposing middle school-aged girls of color from to international travel, leadership development, and character building. We prioritize serving students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to travel due to financial constraints and we are looking to recruit students from Wards 7 and 8. Since 2017, 52 girls have participated in our programming visiting countries like Costa Rica and Colombia.
This summer, a select group of 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade girls will have the chance to further develop their leadership skills, cultural knowledge, and friendships through our innovative summer camp.
Camp iFLY is a three-week day camp in DC that concludes with a one-week trip abroad to Panama. This summer, 20 deserving girls will have the chance to further develop their leadership skills, cultural knowledge, and friendships through our innovative summer programming.
Our curriculum engages students in lessons focused on self-esteem building, teamwork, accountability, and community building. Additionally, throughout all three weeks of camp, students participate in daily Spanish lessons and complete travel preparation activities such as learning to convert currency to help them prepare for their trip to Panama.
While in Panama, students will participate in excursions such as zip lining, horseback riding, and dance lessons. They will also visit historical sites, complete a service project, try new foods and practice their Spanish skills.
