Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington seeks Grant Writer - $50k

The Grant Writer serves as a key member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington’s

(BGCGW) Development team and is responsible for developing and submitting proposals under

$25,000. This position reports to the Senior Grants Manager, and works closely with BGCGW’s

Development Associate, Operations team, and our Finance team. The Grant Writer must be comfortable collaborating with Executive and Senior Staff while managing proposals across multiple departments and locations in the Greater Washington DC area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and write compelling general operating and project-related applications for private foundation, corporate, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and government grants, with a focus on grants under $25,000

• Track and develop grant reporting needs, including mid-year reports, final reports and acknowledgements, with a focus on grants under $25,000

• With the Senior Grants Manager, prepare necessary financial and supplementary materials for timely grant and proposal submission for the full grant portfolio

• Develop and process donor and funder acknowledgement letters

• Prepare prospect research briefs and outreach in support of new funding

• Support database and development data tracking duties

• Administrative work and other duties/writing projects as assigned
