Experience the calming and meditative practice of dot painting, an art form seen in cultures around the world, from ancient mandalas to impressionism to Indigenous Australian designs. Through the rhythmic placement of color and pattern, we will clear our minds while creating mesmerizing artwork. Take this time to relax, ground your energy, and explore the beauty of texture, repetition, and color in community. No art experience is necessary!

Teaching Artist Bio: 

Sindhu Blume is a multimedia artist based in Bethesda, MD. Her work translates natural and built environments into perceptive tableaux through found objects and found-object photography, acrylic, and watercolor. Whether depicting it or incorporating it, the natural world in all stages is a key component in her work. 

Born in India, Sindhu came to the United States as a child. She attended classes at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, which was an initiation into seeing and expressing form. Sindhu is a former journalist and her work has appeared in the Gazette Newspapers, the Washington Post, the Austin-American Statesman, and National Public Radio.
