MPD seeks Cadet Corps Recruiting Coordinator - $92,656 to $118,558/year
This position is located in the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Executive Office of the Chief of Police (EOCOP), Patrol Operations Chief (POC), Youth and Family Engagement Division (YFED), Cadet Corps Branch (CCB). The incumbent recruits qualifying candidates for the Cadet Corps and Expeditioner Programs by developing relationships with the District of Columbia Public School (DCPS) and Public Charter Schools.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Conducts recruiting at the middle and high schools in the District of Columbia for the Cadet Corps and Expeditioner Programs.
Works with leadership within Anacostia High School with the tenacity program.
Monitors, tracks and records the statistics of the Cadet Corps and Expeditioner Interest Cards.
Provides the weekly interest card statistics of applicants to the Recruiting Division.
Coordinates and manages the prospect days to ensure smooth operation.
Coordinates and manages the interviews of candidates.
Collaborates and maintains working relationship with the DCPS, charter schools, career counselors and school officers.
Completes monthly reports on all recruiting numbers.
Maintains and updates all changes with applicants to the Cadet Corps.
Works with the Recruiting Division to ensure that the cadets transition smoothly to recruit officers and are placed in the background process upon completion of the 60 college credits.
Participates in career fairs throughout the District of Columbia and within the DCPS.
Develops and maintains a relationship with the counselors, school resource officers and staff within DCPS and Public Charter Schools.
Prepares transitioning cadets for the background process and ensures cadets are up to date with all recruiting requests from the background investigators.
Works with various units to create and prepare activities for the Expeditioner Program.
Coordinates with the Strategic Engagement Office (SEO) of MPD on creating promotional videos for Cadet Corps and the Expeditioner Programs. Creates new recruiting strategies to
advertise for the programs with brochures and outreach.
Attends meetings or performs work at locations outside the office.
Performs other related duties as assigned
