About Reunion Square
“Reunion Square is a multi-phase, masterplanned 1.5 million SF development on eight (8) acres located in Historic Anacostia. Under the current Planned Unit Development, at total Reunion Square buildout will have approx. 950,000 SF of office space, 130,000 SF of neighborhood-serving retail, and 480 multi-family residential development (market rate, affordable, and/or affordable senior living). Historic Anacostia is well situated between the Navy Yard, the new Homeland Security Headquarters, and St. Elizabeth’s and is in a stage of rapid revitalization with the recent opening of the new Busboys and Poets restaurant and a new Starbucks. Reunion Square is located three blocks from the Anacostia Metro Station which is serviced by the Green Line.
Reunion Square’s first phase of development is complete with the redevelopment of the 2235 Shannon Place office building which serves as the Headquarters building for both the District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Charitable Games and the Department of For-Hire Vehicles. The current phase of the Reunion Square development starting in 2019 includes approx. 421,100 SF in two (2) office buildings – a 287,900 SF building (Building 4) and a 133,200 SF building (Building 5) – both fronting on Interstate I-295 with dramatic views of Anacostia Park, the Anacostia River, the new sports stadiums, and the US Capitol. The development project is being done in joint venture with the existing land owner, Curtis Properties, and in cooperation with the District of Columbia who is providing tax increment financing (“TIF”) support for the project and will be the anchor tenant in the larger of the two buildings including a new 200,000 SF Headquarters for the District of Columbia Department of Health (“DC Health”).”
