ONSE seeks Executive Assistant - $93,069 to $119,916
This position is located in the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE), Office of the Director. The mission of ONSE is to build partnerships and implement strategies that reduce gun-related violence in the District. ONSE fulfills this mission by coordinating the District’s gun violence prevention and intervention initiatives, using both public health and public safety tools, and by focusing on identifying and engaging with those most likely to be involved in gun violence, providing them with an alternative to crime.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the daily administrative operations, goals, and objectives of the Executive Director are accomplished by confidentially making sound decisions and independent judgement to handle administrative functions and exercise the ability to escalate serious or unique problems to higher-level authority.
Duties and Responsibilities
Exercises exclusive control over the Executive Director’s appointments, with complete authority over commitments of time. Enhances the work of the Executive Director through general assistance and organizational support on a daily basis to include day-to-day interaction and facilitation of internal and external requests. Coordinates staff assignment(s) in preparation for the Executive Director’s meetings with the Mayor’s Office, City Administrator’s Office, council members, and political and business organizations. Coordinates and manages the executive official’s schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, events, and teleconferences while prioritizing functions and appointments to ensure that meetings, deadlines, presentations, and logistics are handled seamlessly.
