The Washington School for Girls seeks Grants Writer and Manager
The Washington School for Girls is an all-scholarship (tuition free) Catholic school serving students from economically disadvantaged communities, primarily Wards 7 and 8 and nearby Prince George’s County. We provide robust academic programming, extended day learning and a balanced year-round school calendar, family support, and graduate support, all with a goal of improving academic outcomes, high school completion rates and post-secondary enrollment. The school receives very limited government support and generates the significant majority of funds from private philanthropy, including private foundations.
The Grants Writer and Manager reports to the Development Director and primarily works with other members of the WSG development team to maintain and increase support from current foundations, churches, religious groups, government, civic groups, and businesses where a written application process is indicated. The Writer and Manager collaborates with key program staff to ensure a clear understanding of grant requirements and supports grant compliance. Also, the Writer and Manager uses his or her superior writing abilities to support the creation of school publications and fundraising materials as needed.
